SuperGaming recently announced that its Made-in-India battle royale game Indus will be coming to both Android and iOS on October 16. The Pune-based gaming studio, which has been working on the mobile shooting game for almost two years, officially launched Indus in open beta earlier this year in August.

Set on an island named Virlok on a futuristic planet named Indus, the game world is inspired by ancient civilisations with gamers playing as Mythwalkers. Apart from fighting others, players will have to collect a rare resource dubbed “Cosmium” and be vary of the dynamic shifting terrain and storms on the island. Similar to Apex Legends roster of characters, Indus battle royale also features several Indian avatars named Morni, Sirtaj, Heena, Pokhran and Mech-Balika.

The game also features several weapons, some of which are inspired by other popular battle royale titles. They include Vantage, a sniper rifle and SFR-4, another high damage rifle. The company plans to generate revenue from in-app purchases like weapons, skins and more.

It also showcased a new unique mechanism called “Grudge”, which lets you track the players who defeated you in battle so you can take revenge and settle the score. The system divides players into two roles – Hunter and Defender. While Hunter allows the player to track down their target, Defender is alerted to the threat, which the developer says does not give a significant advantage to either side. Like BGMI, Indus battle royale also features 4v4 deathmatch.

According to the company, the game currently has more than 12.5 million pre-registrations on Android alone. SuperGaming is also working on bringing Indus battle royale to other platforms like PC and consoles.
