Truecaller will now generate transcription and summary for call recordings

Truecaller has brought its AI-powered call recording feature to India. Available for both iOS and Android users, the new tool now lets you record your phone conversations directly within the Truecaller app – and generates transcription and summary for it.

The Stockholm-based company utilises artificial intelligence technology to offer live call transcription. This means you can fully focus on the discussion without worrying about taking notes. Once the call ends, Truecaller’s AI will automatically create a transcription of the entire conversation along with a handy summary.

On iPhone, the feature works seamlessly within the Truecaller app. When making or receiving a call, simply tap “Record a Call” in the Search tab. This will dial Truecaller’s recording line and give you the option to merge the calls together. You’ll then get a notification when the transcription is complete. All recordings are securely stored locally on your device.

Android users will find a dedicated record button in Truecaller’s dialer. Just single tap to start or stop capturing your important phone meetings. For other dialers, a floating button does the same job. As with iPhone, you’ll be notified once your call file is processed and ready for review.

The transcription currently supports English and Hindi languages. But Truecaller plans to add more locales in future updates.

Accessing the new functionality is straightforward. It’s included as part of Truecaller’s Premium package for Rs 75 month-to-month or Rs 529 annually. So you get call recording plus Premium’s other benefits like contact requests, longer call history, and more.
