Runway Gen-2 AI model can quickly turn any picture into video in seconds

Generative AI is currently the hottest topic in the tech world. From generating pictures with just a text prompt to solving complex equations, it can complete intricate tasks in just a few seconds, which, when manually done would take hours. Runway is one such generative AI tool specialized in content generation. It can produce audio, images, videos, and even 3D structures with a simple prompt, and it’s available for free.

This tool can convert any picture, including the ones generated on models like Midjourney, and transform these images into videos using various tools like Runway Motion Brush. Runway recently unveiled a new version of its generative AI model called Runway Gen-2, a multimodal AI system capable of generating images, videos, and videos with text. There’s even an iOS app that makes it convenient to generate multimedia using Runway on smartphones.

Users can now create new videos with simple text prompts. For free accounts, Runway Gen-2 can generate four-second videos that can be downloaded and shared on any platform, although they will include a watermark.

Free Runway users will receive 500 credits, and one second of video generation consumes five credits. Additionally, there’s a subscription plan that offers more tools and capabilities to users, allowing further customization of the output. This subscription costs $12 per month.
