Google Gemini, previously known as Bard is getting a new update that lets users modify responses generated by the AI-powered chatbot. The tech giant says the new feature helps users to precisely tune the chatbot's replies to their queries. This is useful since you will no longer have to ask Gemini to rewrite the whole text and instead highlight the part you want to change. To modify Gemini's response, fire up your favourite browser on your desktop and open Gemini. Once you ask the chatbot about something, just select the part of the text you want to modify and click on the circular button with a wand. Clicking on it will show you four options to choose from - Regenerate, Shorter, Longer and Remove. Choosing 'Regenerate' will rewrite the part of the text you have selected differently, 'Shorter' and 'Longer' will make the text more compact or expand it whereas the 'Remove' button will delete the selected text. You can also ask Google Gemini to rewrite its response by typing what you want the chatbot to do in the 'Modify with a prompt' field and choosing whether you want to regenerate, make it shorter or longer. According to 9to5Google, sometimes users may get a 'Gemini couldn't do that' reply to some prompts that ask for unsupported text formatting changes, don't tell the chatbot how to modify the response or when users ask something that the app can't understand. Google may also be preventing users from modifying text responses from extensions, responses that contain code blocks and selections that include images. However, the feature currently seems to be limited to English and works only with the web version of Gemini.
