In the second match of the day, Puneri Paltan suffered a 18-25 defeat against Bengal Warriors in Jaipur. While Warriors had already qualified for the playoffs along with Patna Pirates, today’s result saw them move to top spot in Zone B points table. Warriors were in command from the word go as they didn’t let Pune side ease out the pressure. Maninder Singh, Surjeet Singh and Shrikant Tewthia scored five points each for the Warriors. Deepak Hooda was the only player from Pune to cross five-point mark as Rajesh Mondal failed to open his account. Earlier, Jaipur Pink Panthers began their home leg against Gujarat Fortunegiants and suffered a narrow defeat. An all-out in the dying minutes of the second half saw Gujarat Fortunegiants register a 29-23 win over Jaipur Pink Panthers.
