Messi, who moved from Barcelona to Paris in the summer of 2021, has been linked to a move back to the Catalan club. Argentine superstar Lionel Messi’s rocky marriage with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) may be heading for an inevitable divorce, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Messi, who was suspended by PSG on Thursday for two weeks without pay due to his recent trip to Saudi Arabia which came without the club’s authorisation, will leave the club at the end of the season, Romano said. Leo’s father Jorge had already communicated the decision to PSG one month ago, he added.

The relationship between the Parisian fans and Messi has taken a blow following the 2022 World Cup final that saw Messi and Co end a 36-year wait to win the country’s third World Cup against France in the final.
A few days ago, Messi had shared a sponsored image from Saudi Arabia as he expressed his love of the country’s landscape which might have been a subtle hint to his next move.
Messi will be 36 this summer but is still sought after and will be in contention for an eighth Ballon d’Or later this year after leading Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar last December.
