India will take on Australia in a white-ball rubber starting from Sunday. The Shubman Gill-led Indian side will start the campaign with a three-match ODI series and be followed by a five-match T20I series in which Suryakumar Yadav will captain the blues. All eyes will be on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who might be touring the Australian shores for the final time with the national team..
According to a press release from Cricket Australia, over a whopping 1,75,000 tickets have already been sold for the bilateral event. On Friday India’s Nitish Kumar Reddy and Dhruv Jurel, alongside Australia’s Mitchell Starc and Travis Head, posed for a special photo opportunity in front of a poster showcasing memorable moments from past Australia v India white-ball encounters.
“We’re expecting some really good cricket over the next few days,” Head said as quoted by the release on the series. “Both teams have had strong training sessions and the conditions here at Perth Stadium are excellent. It’s a great venue to start the series and both squads are full of quality.”
“Australia and India always bring out the best in each other. The atmosphere here is fantastic and we’re looking forward to a competitive series,” said Axar Patel.
