Ravi Bishnoi in the attack as LSG persist with spin. And it pays dividends as Starc tries for a big hit, gets it all wrong as Rishabh Pant runs in to take the catch!! DC almost done.

Prince Yadav in the attack and this is Ashutosh's turn to join the party as he smacks the bowler for a six and a boundary off the first two deliveries. Shahbaz Ahmed in the attack and Nigam slams a boundary to start this one off. Goes straight now but gets a single to put Ashutosh on strike. He takes a single of his own and Nigam is back to face the bowler. Oh dear god!! He has gone and grabbed a 6 off the next ball!! Game on here!! 15 from this one.

Ravi Bishnoi back in the attack and Vipraj Nigam places the first ball for a four which goes over the infield and races to the boundary. Two singles follow as Ashutosh and Nigam trade strikes. And Nigam reaches for the next ball and smacks it to the sweeper cover boundary. And would you know it!! He smashes the next one even better to the same position for a six!! 17 from the over.

M Siddharth to bwol the next ver and Stubbs slams it over the bowler's head for a 6!! Goes agin, and it's exactly the same result as it sails over the ropes for another 6!!! LSG must be having flashbacks of that 57 he made last year to take the match away from them. The ball gets replaced now and the bowler strikes!! What a delivery!! it spins away from the batter and has rattled his stumps!!!

Prince Yadav continues and bowls roght to Stubbs' legs as he pokes it to midwicket for a single. Ashutosh swings but Thakur patrolling the boundary saves a sure-shot four!! A wide now. Stubbs takes a single as LSG keep the pressure on. DC finally bring up their 100. Just 6 from this over.

M Siddharth  back in the attack and again a bit of hesitation in the middle with the batters but no harm done. 2 from the first couple of deliveries as these two look to build a partnership. Nice shot by Stubbs with a reverse hit to get a boundary!! 7 from this one.

DC 95/5 after 11 overs

Prince Yadav in to the attack and yields 3 from the first 2 as Rathi pulls off a fine save near the boundary to save 2 runs. Just a single off the next couple of deliveries before LSG miss a run out opportunity as Stubbs was left stranded!! 5 from this over ultimately.

DC 88/5 after 10 overs

Bishnoi continues and Stubbs has driven it high up and has gone long as well for a beautiful six!! Holds the pose for good measure. Single next and Ashutosh powers the next delivery for a boundary!!! No runs from the next deliveries as Bishnoi keeps it tight.

Digvesh Rathi in to bowl the next over and Ashutosh Sharma takes a single to start. Stubbs with a single of his own next before Ashutosh edges one for 4!! Three dots to end the over.

Ravi Bishnoi in to bowl the first over after powerplay as Stubbs takes a single to start. du Plessis on strike and he rocks back and smashes a six over deep midwicket!! Tries for a big hit again and this time, he has holed out to David Miller in the deep!! DC imploding at the moment.

M Siddharth continues and Axar has smashed the first ball for a huge six before taking a single. Du Plessis with a single of his own to put Patel back on strike. And Du Plessis smshes the 5th ball over the bowler's head for a boundary!! Ends the over with another four!! It was almost a catch out but just evades the fielder to run away to the cover point boundary!!!

Digvesh Rathi in the attack and after a couple of quiet ones, Axar Patel smashes him for his first boundary of the innings.  Du Plessis on strike now and he places it to the offside for another 4. These two will be crucial for DC's chance to stay alive in the match.

M Siddharth in to bowl the second over and yield sjust 1 from the first 3 deliveries as LSG keep piling on the pressure on the hosts. And that's another down as Rishabh Pant takes an incredible catch behind the stumps!!! Rizvi walks back

We are back for live action as LSG have to defend this total with a non existent pace attack with most of their frontline pacers missing. Fraser-McGurk and du Plessis will open and Shardul Thakur will bowl the first over. Fraser-McGurk starts with a single as Faf completes a pretty tight run as well. AND GONE!! Shardul strikes in the first over!! Fraser-McGurk swings thebat, slices it as the ball goes high into the night sky and Ayush Badoni completes the catch.

Last over and Mohit will bowl this one. Starts with 3 runs from the first couple of deliveries. Miller turns down a single next as he wants to finish with a flourish but LSG are struggling to reach 200. At one point, they looked to be crossing 250+. And finally he gets hold of the ball and smashes a six!!! And follows that up with another as Lucknow post 209/8. Might have scored more with the way they started but the DC bowlers' brilliance restricted them to this score.

AAAND TIMBER!! Ravi Bishnoi is on strike and he can't do anything against that fast ball from Starc!! His wickets are rattled and Starc lives up to his 'Mopper' nickname.

And a four now from Ahmed as he guides it to deep midwicket!! And he's gone the next ball. Tries to go again, gets the timing all wrong and the fielder catches it.

Mohit Sharma to bowl this one and Shahbaz Ahmed with a single to start. Miller with a single of his own to return the favour. Miller now with a mishit but gets a four anyway. A no ball called as well as the ball slipped out of the bowler's hands. Just a single off the free hit as Miller looks frustrated for missing out. 10 from this one.

AND THAT'S ANOTHER DOWN AS LUCKNOW'S INNINGS JUST KEEPS FALLING AWAY!! Huge mix-up in the middle between Shardul and Miller leadimng to the Indian allrounder getting run out!!

Kuldeep back in the attack and straightaway appeals for an LBW on Miller. The umpire says no and DC review. Pitched outside leg and that's another review lost. Badoni tries to go for a big hit and he does not have the power. Just holes out to Stubbs.

Axar in to bowl the 16th and Badoni and Miller rotate strikes with singles. There's a run out chance now but Miller is pretty quick as he gets back. Just singles so far in this over. DC won't mind at all as they have reigned in LSG's free scoring run. 6 from this one.

Mitchell Starc back in the attack and Miller takes a single to start. Pooran on strike and wht a shot!! It straight at the batter and pooran gets out of the way to adjust and laps it over the keeper for a 4!! How on earth did he do that?? The umpires will now check for a no ball. They say it's a fair delivery as Pooran had crouched a little so not above waist height. And looks like Mukesh has twisted his ankle trying to save a boundary as he landed awkwardly trying to change direction. AND Strach has cleaned up Pooran!!! That's what he is capable of. Tries to go across the line and gets castled.

Kuldeep Yadav in the attack and what do you know, he has got Pant for just 0!! Started with 3 dots and Pant tried for a big hit and holes it out to  long off. Not the start he would have envisioned for his new franchise.

Stubbs introduced and he'll get pummelled as well as Pooran is in no mood to relent!!Back to back sixes bring up his half century!! WOW!!! There goes another one as Pooran keeps up the carnage. Follows up with another SIX!! Stubbs is getting dispatched at different parts of the ground. A boundary to end. 28 off this one!!

Mukesh in to bowl the next over and Marsh opens up his arms and smashes it over the deep point region for a SIX!! Takes a single next and Pooran takes strike. He swings, couldn't get much to it and takes another single. AND MARSH'S GONE!! Slower ball, goes after it and holes out to Stubbs in the deep.

Mohit Sharma in to bowl the next over and Pooran slams it to his leg side for a boundary before taking a single off the next. Slower delivery and Marsh gets hit on his ribs but still manages a single. 2 singles from the next couple of deliveries as Mohit recovers from the first-ball four. Good little over, ends with a dot.

Kuldeep wil continue and DC are looking at the chinaman for a wicket, especially if it's Marsh's. Just 1 from  the first three deliveries so far in this over. And Marsh gets a top edge but such is his power, that has sailed over long on for a SIX!! 9 off this over.

Mohit Sharma introduced in the attack now and starts with a full toss as Marsh takes a single. Tries to go away from pooran but it results in a wide. The West Indies batter takes a single as well, followed by a wide and another single. Turning out to be a quiet over, this one. Not if Marsh has something to say about it. He cuts the fifth ball for a four through point!!

Kuldeep has been introduced in the attack now and after a single, Pooran sweeps him for a boundary!! That catch drop in the previous over is already looking costly. Tries a sweep again but this time he misses. And he went to the well again with the sweep and gets a boundary. Same area, same shot, same result. 9 from this one.

Vipraj Nigam comes into the attack, drags it short and Marsh has absolutely pummeled the first ball, almost out of te stadium for a SIX!! And that's his 50 in 21 deliveries!! And Pooran joins the party with back to back sixes!! Things keep getting better and better for LSG. Shouts of catch it but that's out into the stands. Oh no!!!! Rizvi has dropped a dolly!!! You can't do that!! Especially to Pooran. And he rubs salt in DC's wounds, ending the over witha six!!

Last over of the powerplay and Mukesh Kumar starts this one with a wide ball. Marsh on strike and he takes a single to give the strike to Pooran. He returns the favour and Marsh slams another six and that's gone to the same area. He is going a predictable route but the DC bowlers can't stop him. And again!! Slams powerfully and that's gone to the same boundary!! Powerplay done.

Vipraj Nigam in the attack now and Markram with a single to start before Marsh helps the next delivery to the leg side boundary. Slightly short and Marsh will not leave those. Nigam gets his length right next ball and surprised Marsh witrh the bounce as the Australian takes a single. Markarm on strike and HE'S GONE!!! Couldn't get enough on it and has played that googly into the hands of Starc.

Axar to bowl the 4th over and Markram rotates the strike to Marsh. The former DC player slams another boundary as Axar looks hapless. Oh now then!! There's a shout for LBW. Umpire says no but Axar will review. Impact in line, wickets missing. DC lose a review. 2 runs to finish this over.

Starc will continue and Markram lofts the first ball over extra cover for a mighty six!! Starc is not getting any swing at all from this surface. Marsh on strike now and he has slammed his Australia teammate for back to bck sixes!!! Axar should probably keep Starc for the end of the innings with the Australian not getting any swing. And again!!! Same area and another four from Marsh!! 21 from this over!!

Captain Axar Patel brings himself into the attack and after a dot, Markram moves away and cuts the second delivery for a FOUR!!! If it gets away, the outfield will get it to he boundary more often than not. Takes a single and Marsh is on strike. Backj to back dots next as Axar frustrates Marsh with slower deliveries. Finishes the over with 5 runs.

Here comes Starc steaming in. Will he get swing? Not on the first couple of deliveries as Markram defends. No runs from the first 3 deliveries as Markram takes an account of the surface. Starc goes for a short ball next and it flies over the head of a wildly swinging Markram. Gets an edge off the next ball and takes a run as LSG are up and running. AAANNND MARSH PICKS UP THE NEXT BALL FOR A HUGE SIX!!! just flicks it off his pads and sends it over the ropes.

Rishabh Pant: I wanted to bowl first but It's a good wicket so we can bat well. I have played for DC all my life, so lot of emotions there. Preparations have been well, everyone is in the right shape and in the right frame of mind. Markram, Marsh, Pooran and Miller are our four overseas players.

His explosive batting display has set high expectations for his performance in the upcoming season.

Just before the start of the IPL, big hitter Harry Brook pulled out of the league citing his need to focus on his England plans. This might result in Brook getting banned from the IPL in the next two seasons but it may also put a wrench in Delhi Capitals plans. Can they cope without him? Let's wait and watch.
