IPL 2023: Rishabh Pant must take his time to heal properly, says Sourav Ganguly

The India wicketkeeper-batter met with a horrifying accident when he lost control of his car while driving on NH-58 on December 30.

Former India captain and Delhi Capitals Director of cricket Sourav Ganguly said that Indian star batter Rishabh Pant Should take his time and heal properly and wished him all the best.

According to the press release, Ganguly said, “I am sure that the national team is missing him as well. He’s young and he has got a lot of time left in his career. He’s a special player and he must take his time to heal properly. We wish him all the best and I’ll meet him as well.”

The India wicketkeeper-batter met with a horrifying accident when he lost control of his car while driving on NH-58 on December 30. He suffered multiple injuries on his head, back, knee and ankle. Pant’s injuries, especially the ones on his knee and ankle. The injuries meant that he is ruled out of the game for the foreseeable future.

Hence, in his absence, Delhi Capitals have given the captaincy reigns to Australian David Warner. “David Warner is looking forward to leading the side. He’s always up for the challenge and he’s a great player. He has got a lot of runs and experience under his belt, ” said Ganguly.

Speaking about the training and Ricky Ponting the former BCCI president said, “It’s been great to work with the boys and I am looking forward to the season starting. Net practice is good, but we want to get into match mode. And Ricky has been fantastic. He brings a lot of intensity during training.”
