Why Steve Smith and Adam Zampa are not playing Guwahati T20 against India?

Josh Phillipe and Ben McDermott have flown to India and are available for tonight’s match in Guwahati, with Ben Dwarshuis and Chris Green to join the squad ahead of the fourth T20I on December 1.

Six Australia cricketers, including Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis and Sean Abott are set set to leave the five-match T20I series against India mid-way and will fly home.

Cricket.com.au has reported that Steve Smith and Adam Zampa had already flown home, while Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis and Sean Abbott are set to fly home on Wednesday after the third T20I.

Travis Head, who won the player of the match in the semifinal and final is the sole player from Australia’s victorious World Cup squad to remain in India, along with Tanveer Sangha who travelled with the squad as a reserve.

India are leading the five-match series 2-0. Australia face a must-win game tonight to remain in the series as after slipping to defeat in the opening two matches.
