Introducing: the Express News Quiz League (ENQL)! A six-week contest starting April 7, the ENQL will test our readers’ common sense, critical thinking and nose for the news. Each week, we’ll publish a solo quiz like the one below, which will have 10 questions on major headlines. Your task? Solve them quickly and accurately, and climb up our contest leaderboard. How to join the Quiz League

One ENQL quiz will be published each week. Solve it any time before its solving window closes. Today’s quiz is under Game Week 1, live from April 7 (2pm) to April 13 (12pm). To start playing:

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick predicts that India will apologise and return to the negotiating table within the next month or two to sign a trade deal with the US. He urges India to choose between supporting the US or aligning with Russia and China. Lutnick also criticised India's retaliatory tariffs and calls Prime Minister Modi's meeting with Chinese and Russian leaders "bravado."
