Will not allow destructive politics of bandh in Bengal: Mamata Banerjee

'No man-day loss had taken place in the state since Trinamool has taken over,' Mamata said.

In an attempt to attract capital to West Bengal,Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that her government was against the destructive politics of bandh and claimed that ever since Trinamool Congress came to power,there had been no loss of man-days in the state.

‘Destructive’ bandhs are not future: Mamata

“We are not allowing any bandh,any destructive politics. We are not in favour of that. Only democratic movements will be allowed,” Banerjee said while addressing a programme on ‘MSME Synergy 2013’ here.

Assuring that land for industry was not a problem,she said,”We have a land bank. Our government has already given clearances for 11,000 acres of land for industry. So,you do not have to worry. Come and invest in Bengal,” she said.

She also gave a new slogan (shilpa karun,Bangla gorun) “set up industries,build Bengal”.

Will enact law to ban bandhs in Bengal: Mamata

Blaming the previous Left Front government for the poor industrial culture in the state created by rampant bandhs,she said that since her government took over,no man-day loss had taken place in the state.

She also blamed the Left Front government for having created a financial mess in the state and claimed that efforts initiated by her government were yielding results for the promotion of industry.
