The third front will come to power at the Centre in the forthcoming Parliament elections,CPI(M) Politbureau member Brinda Karat said on Wednesday.
Speaking at an election campaign meeting at Paravoor near here, she said the common minimum programme of the UPA government had made the life of common man miserable.
On price rise,Brinda alleged that the Centre had not nothing to control the price rise, instead it was adopting a policy of giving “red-carpet welcome to the MNCs.”
The CPI(M) had extended support to the UPA government earlier to keep the communal forces at bay,she said.
In Kerala, the opposition UDF was misleading the people with false propaganda on the achievements of the LDF government, she claimed.
Earlier, speaking at a function at Aluva,Brinda said only the third front, which is an alternative to Congress and BJP would be able to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill.
Alleging that the UPA government had failed to initiate steps to tackle communalism and terrorism, she said it had also failed to come out with any project for the NRIs,who were forced to return to the country after losing jobs.
