Patna Sahib MP and actor Shatrughan Sinha embarrassed the BJP further on Monday, meeting both Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad at their Patna homes.
Sinha also talked about the real reasons for his sulking before the elections and open dissent after, saying he should have been projected as his party’s chief ministerial candidate.
“I am a dhatrtiputra, a real Biharibabu…. If I was made the chief ministerial candidate, the party would have got more seats. I don’t know if we would have won, but would have won more than this,” he said.

Sinha did not spend much time with both Kumar and Lalu; he spent more time talking to journalists outside. The template went: arrival, hug in public, whisper in the ear and back to car.
“Nitishbabu has managed to earn a great victory and has survived anti-incumbency. He is a successful chief minister,” he said outside Lalu Prasad’s house.
Sinha called for introspection within the party and demanded an action taken report.
“The way people from outside Bihar – people with no connection to our language and politics – was brought in and kept here for months without producing any result must be looked into,” he said.
He also indicated that he was interested in a position in the Modi cabinet: “When people see that I am not a minister, they wonder if it was because I performed badly as (Vajpayee’s) health and shipping minister.” Sinha then went on to state that he still has high hopes. “Achhe din will come….I trust in the PM’s wisdom,” he said.
Throughout the day, the MP insisted his actions were for the sake of the party: “The BJP is my first party in all probability, my last.”
When asked whether he was unhappy with Sushil Kumar Modi for keeping him out for Bihar politics, Sinha said after a long pause that he would name no names. He however said that, “If I saw the writing on the wall, some people were misleading party leadership by passing on wrong reports.”
