A day after the top Congress leadership met leaders from Assam, party leaders on Friday will hold a meeting with the high command to discuss the organisation and preparations for the Assembly elections, scheduled for next year, sources said.

The meeting comes amid a row over Congress’ Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor’s recent article that drew criticism from some Congress leaders in Kerala for his perceived praise of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in the state for boosting the investment climate.

The Congress is the main opposition party in Kerala and is seeking to wrest power from the LDF.
