Bilawal extends Rahul an invite,wishes India peace

After the lunch,Bilawal tweeted,“(Pak) President and I enjoyed lunch with Rahul Gandhi."

While father Asif Ali Zardari secured a confirmation from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today to visit Pakistan,Bilawal Bhutto Zardari extended an invitation to Rahul Gandhi,who reportedly said yes.

Bilawal,23 and Rahul,41,were seated next to each other at the lunch at the Prime Minister’s residence,hosted for the visiting Pakistan President and his delegation. “There was a lot of parallel conversation happening around the table,especially between Rahul and Bilawal,” sources said.

While the dates of Rahul’s visit have not been finalised,the two political heirs,whose initiation into public life has been under similar,tragic circumstances,are understood to have discussed the possibility of involving youth in peace.

After the lunch,Bilawal tweeted,“(Pakistan) President and I enjoyed lunch with Rahul Gandhi and PM (Manmohan) Singh. Lovely meal. Much to learn from each other.”

Bilawal,who was appointed chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party after the assassination of his mother Benazir Bhutto in 2007,returned from London last year after finishing his studies and is taking active interest in politics in Pakistan. He is being groomed for taking over the leadership of the party,and was in charge when Zardari went to Dubai in December for medical treatment.

Rahul,who is MP from Amethi,too was part of the core group of the Congres when party president Sonia Gandhi went abroad for her medical treatment last year.

Earlier,announcing his landing on Indian soil to his over 14,000 online Twitter followers,Bilawal said: “AOA India Peace be with you. I have just landed in Delhi. 1st ever visit.” AOA is for Allah-o-Akbar.
