Sonia Gandhi can well empathise with film directors who have to wait helplessly for Govinda, the actor who almost always fails to make it to the filmsets on time.

The cinestar-turned-MP must apparently have hoped for the same indulgence at the dinner hosted by the UPA Chairperson at Hotel Ashok in honour of presidential nominee Pratibha Patil last week. The dinner started at 7.30 pm and it was all over by 9 pm. Govinda arrived at the venue at 9.30 pm to find television cameramen winding up. 8220;Why are you leaving, yaar?8221; drawled the actor. He could not believe the party was really over. But once convinced by the hotel staff that the dinner was indeed over, Govinda looked at the mediapeople and began pleading, 8220;Please don8217;t write about this. My flight got delayed.8221;
