Yuvraj Singh did not get the nod of his skipper for a place in the final Test XI in Delhi. Chances are, he won’t get it at the Eden either, but the left-hander did manage to get a thumbs up from Robin Singh.

Team India’s fielding coach had submitted a detailed fitness and fielding report to the Board at the conclusion of the one-day series against Pakistan, and Yuvraj has expectedly topped the list. But never the one to be completely satisfied, Robin has marked that Yuvraj still has areas to work upon.

According to top sources, the report also has detailed inputs on Sourav Ganguly, where the fielding coach has stressed on the need for him to improve further on their agility and physical fitness. Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh have been put in the fit bracket, but they need to improve on their agility in the field, it has been observed.

Virender Sehwag has been termed satisfactory in the field, but has been asked to improve on his throw, while Zaheer Khan’s throw while running in for the ball in the outfield needed further work.

This report is part of routine assessment of the team on a time-to-time basis while another report on the overall endurance and sprinting abilities is expected to be submitted by trainer Gregory King at the end of the Test series.
