The BJP-led coalition government in Karnataka, headed by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, on Monday decided to seek a floor test on November 23.The maiden Cabinet meeting chaired by Yeddyurappa soon after assuming office decided to request Governor Rameshwar Thakur to convene a one-day special session on November 23 to enable the government prove its majority on the floor of theHouse."I will prove the majority of my government on November 23," the chief minister told reporters in Bangalore.Yeddyurappa, who has the support of 129 MLAs, including 49 from JDS, exuded confidence of passing through the trust vote."I assure you that our coalition government will complete 19 months. Let their be no doubt about it," he said."Creation and maintenance of infrastructure is going to be our top priority. We will leave no stone unturned to make Karnataka a model state in the country," he said.All efforts will made to bring Karnataka, which at present occupies the seventh position among the states, to the forefront, Yeddyurappa said.He said the government's main priorities would be to provide a result oriented and responsive governance, maintain communal harmony, to take into confidence all sections of society and ensure safety of minorities and weaker sections like SC/ST and empowerment of women.
