NEW DELHI, SEPT 20: India’s expenditure on rectifying the millennium bug will touch a whopping Rs 2,500 crore by the year-end with the country already having spent nearly Rs 2000 crore to fix the computer menace.

“The Government and industry have spent Rs 1,000 cr each in making systems Y2K 2000 compatible. We expect it to rise to Rs 2,500 crore by December," N Seshagiri, member convenor of National Task Force on Y2K stated.
