
MUMBAI, AUGUST 12: St Xavier’s, Fort, scored a comprehensive 6-1 victory over St Stanislaus B to romp into the the Under-14 second division semi-final in the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School Football Tournament at Azad Maidan today. Joining them were Campion School, St Paul’s, Dadar, and St Andrew’s, Bandra. While Campion and St Andrew’s blanked Seventh Day Adventist and Bombay Scottish 3-0 and 2-0 respectively, St Paul’s beat Utpal Sanghvi 2-1.
Nihal Kabre was the star for St Xavier’s, scoring three of his team’s six goals. Aditya Kanade (2) and Tyron Fernandes (1) were the other generous contributors.

Borivlians win
Borivlians beat BPCL (Refineries) 1-0 in a first division MDFA league match for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Trophy at St Xavier’s Ground, Parel, today.
Though BPCL enjoyed the better of the exchanges, they missed a couple of chances, the best being a centre from Ramesh Nair that went a begging. BPCL were also thwarted by the stolid defence of Borivlians back Diago Fernandes.
Borivlians mounted pressure in the closing minutes, two shies by Hillary Lobo and Allwyn Prasana respectively hitting the post. Diago Fernandes scored the match-winner in the penultimate minute, off a goalmouth melee after Afron Andrews had centred the ball.
In a second division match, Wall Boys held Dadar Young Boys to a 1-1 draw. Laxmkiant Solanki scored for DY Boys, while Eleuther Gomes equalised for Wall Boys.
