Won’t campaign with Jan Morcha: Bukhari

A day before launching his campaign for UP Assembly elections, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid and patron of the United Democratic Front Ahmed Bukhari on Saturday said he would not share dais with any of Jan Morcha leaders, notwithstanding the Front joining hands with V P Singh’s alliance.

“Why should I hold any public meeting with those who have done nothing for Muslim welfare?” said Bukhari. Front’s chief Yusuf Qureishi, who declined to comment on the Imam’s statement, however, said the UDF and the Jan Morcha would campaign together against common enemies — SP and BJP.
