WASHINGTON, March 1: The White House has no plans to tell an "alternate story" to President Bill Clinton’s vehement denial of any improper relations with former intern Monica Lewinsky, spokesman Joe Lockhart said.

The comment came in response to a CBS news report that said Clinton’s strategy in the White House sex scandal would be to admit a special relationship with Lewinsky, which involved only kissing. "We have denied that there is any communications strategy to tell an alternate story," Lockhart said in Utah, where Clinton and his family were taking a winter break. Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr is investigating allegations that Clinton had a sexual affair with Lewinsky and urged her to lie about it under oath.

Meanwhile, Starr is now also investigating an attempt to malign and blackmail him over an alleged affair he had with a woman in Little Rock, Arkansas. The probe has now spread to Arkansas, where two members of a investigative firm have been subpoenaed before a grand jury, The WashingtonTimes reported.
