8220;I8217;m so bored, yaar!8221; cried my friend over the phone. 8220;But Shweta, how can you get bored on the second day of the holidays and there are still two more months for college to reopen!8221; I exclaimed.
8220;Don8217;t terrify me. I8217;m going to die of boredom,8221; she wailed. The very thought of getting bored in hols seems alien to me 8216;cos this is the precious period of time when I feel like doing anything and everything. But I guess I8217;m the one shocking people with my enthusiastic response towards life. Yes life. A teenager8217;s life is divided into two phases 8211; college days and holidays. And it8217;s just not the vacations that bring the blues, but even the vibrant college life becomes stale for many.
8220;Oooh! It8217;s so boring roaming around watching people doing tamasha and that too in the hot sun. What8217;s gonna happen to my complexion?8221; is the standard statement. I racked my brains to offer some really tantalising opportunity. But failing to do so, I ask them their idea of excitement. 8220;Exams,8221; they answer in chorus.
8220;So, I8217;m talking to a group of scholars?8221; I manage to stutter, marvelling my friends8217; ability to take exams in their stride. 8220;Oh no! Nothing like that. It8217;s only that we8217;ll have something to be occupied with,8221; they answer.Come exams and I scan my pals8217; faces to get a glimmer of enthusiasm but again they had the same listless expression as before.
8220;Aren8217;t you happy that exams are here?8221; I ask.8220;Please no. Exams are so boring. We are waiting for this ordeal to get over.8221;Well then, I wonder what interests them.8220;School days were much more fun,8221; they answer dreamily. I bet they said the same thing about college when in school.It8217;s really weird watching people getting bored about everything. After all, we8217;ve just got one life. So why not enjoy every stage of it and do as many things as possible instead of wasting away your time getting fed up.
