Will Amitabh Bachchan play Shahaji?

Producer Guru Sharma is very sure that Amitabh Bachchan will agree to do his film Apna Rajya Sampoorna Swaraj. The film is a period drama and revolves around Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his father Shahaji. Guru,who has sent a script to the legendary actor. said that he hopes to meet him soon. “It is the story of a fearless warrior and only an actor like Amitabh Bachchan can do justice to it,” said the producer,who is music director Monty Sharma’s brother.

The film is set during the period when Shivaji’s father Shahaji was imprisoned by the Mughals. “A new boy will be playing Shivaji’s role while three new girls are also part of the cast. Vinay Apte will helm this extravaganza,” said Sharma.

The other actors who have been signed for the film are Gulshan Grover,who will play Adil Shah,Milind Gunaji as Tanaji,Puneet Issar as Afzal Khan and Ashutosh Rana as Shahista Khan. Sharma said he was trying to rope in Madhuri Dixit to play the part of Jijamata. He also said he had the support of Shivaji’s great -great grandson,Chattrapati Shahu Maharaj,the king of Kolhapur.
