Volvo launches ‘S60’ in three variants in India

Volvo Auto India launched its S60 luxury sedan with its starting price at Rs 27-lakh (ex- showroom,Mumbai and Delhi).

The sedan will be available in three variants from this month onwards and the most expensive one will cost Rs 34-lakh.

The S60 sedan will be available in the both petrol and diesel variants in the market.

The auto-maker’s S60 is likely to compete with Audi’s A4 sedan and the C-class sedans sold by Mercedes-Benz India.

“We are very happy to launch our latest premium sedan in the Indian market. We will continue to launch new models here in the coming days,” Volvo Auto India’s Managing Director,Paul de Voijs,said.

“The S60 sedan will be available in our seven outlets in the country from this month onwards,” he said.

Volvo Auto India sells S80 sedan,XC90 and XC60 in India. Its luxury SUV XC60 is more in demand in the country.

“Our XC60 is more in demand in the Indian market. This model now has at least a 3-4-months waiting period. We plan to ramp-up capacity to meet the demand,” he said,adding the company has already sold 100 units of XC60 in India.

Volvo Auto India launched its much-awaited compact luxury SUV– XC60 — in India in November last year.

“We are trying to reduce the waiting period and hope it will be happen in the next five-six-months,” he said.

The company has a manufacturing facility in Belgium.
