Vijay is getting prepared to act in the remake of a Rajnikanth film,Naan Sigappu Manithan. In 1985,it was directed by Vijays father S.A. Chandrashekhar and starred,besides Rajnikanth,Sathyaraj,Bhagyaraj and Ambika. It was the remake of the Hindi film,Aaj Ki Awaaz.
Vijay,who is at present busy with Siddiques Kaavalkaaran,will be also seen in Velayudham,to be directed by Jayam Ravi.
Jayasurya in Payyans
Jayasurya will play the lead role in Payyans,director Leo Thadeus forthcoming film. This is the second film by Leo,who had made his debut with Pachamarathanalil after working with director Bhadran as an associate director. After Pachamarathanalil,Leo had directed a short film titled Nurunguvettangal. Payyans will also have Lal in a key role,playing father to Jayasurya. The cast will also include Jagathy Sreekumar,Saikumar,Suraaj Venjaramoodu etc. P.A.Noushad will produce the movie,which will have music by Alphonse.
Vineeth as hero in Room No: 9 B
Vineeth plays the hero in the Room No: 9 B,to be launched soon. The film,an adaptation of a popular novel,will have script by V.R.Shankar,who is also directing the movie.
Room No: 9 B will focus on the heroine and Muktha George will be playing the female lead in the film. Mukthas role will be that of Hima,a young girl whose life takes a new turn after she falls in love with a young guy. The cast also includes Vani Viswanath,Seema G Nair,Bijukuttan,Arun,M R Gopakumar etc.
Athmakatha in progress
Athmakatha,in which Sreenivasan plays the lead role,is in progress. Directed by debutant Premlal,who is also scripting the film,it has Sreenivasan playing a blind man named Kochubaby who works in a candle-making factory. Kochubaby spreads happiness all around and makes others realise the true meaning of life. This film,with a positive message,has Sharbani Mukerji playing the heroine. She was seen last in Sufi Paranja Katha,directed by Priyanandanan.
Athmakatha,produced by Santosh Pavitram and Safeer Seth under the banner of Pavitra Creations,has other popular stars too in the cast and features cinematography by debutant Sameer Anthikkad and music by Alphonse.
Rani Maharani to be remade
Pooja Gandhi,who is one of the most enterprising actresses in Kannada film today,is getting ready to do a double role in a forthcoming film. It will be the remake of the hit Rani Maharani,directed by B.Ramamur- thy and with Malashri,Ambareesh and Shashi Kumar in the lead. Rani Maharani is inspired by the Hema Malini-Dharmendra-Sanjeev Kumar film Seeta Aur Geeta. B.Ramamurthy will be directing the Rani Maharani remake. The new Rani Maharani would go in for a complete change in the story,though the basic premise will remain the same.
