The Uttarakhand government has set up a cell called Corporate and Civil Society Partnership for Action (C-PACT) with the help of the Infrastructural Development Finance Company (IDFC) of which the President of India owns the largest share.

The Chairman of the Revenue Board,S K Mattoo,will head C-PACT. He said the cell will coordinate between the civil society and corporate entities in aiding rehabilitation work undertaken by state following the mid-June disaster.

C-PACT will function as a technical support unit; facilitating and fostering rehabilitation and redevelopment action among different partners,such as the state government,its agencies,district administration,Panchayats,corporate entities,civil society organisations and disaster-affected communities,a press release said.
