To lure Kashmiri Pandits back to the Valley,the J&K government on Wednesday said it will provide government jobs to only those migrants who agree to serve in the Valley. The government will provide jobs to 3,000 migrants in the first phase as part of Prime Ministers package for return of migrants to the Valley,Revenue Secretary,Eijaz Iqbal,said. Recruitment rules notified by the government lay down that migrants will get jobs only after they sign an agreement undertaking that they will work in the Valley and under no circumstances will they be eligible for transfer outside the Valley. In case they migrate again,they will lose the jobs without any notice. The new recruitment rules were laid down following recommendations of a Cabinet sub-committee constituted on October 1 this year to suggest measures to carry out implementation of the Prime Ministers package. J&K Services Selection Board will be make recruit candidates for non-gazetted posts. It will launch a special drive to select candidates on the basis of merit. The list of selected candidates,officials said,will be issued only after it is vetted by the Revenue department. Selection for Class-IV posts will be made by a committee constituted by the Revenue department. Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner for Migrants will have to vet a candidates migrant status for him to be get the job. Apex Committee,a representative body of Kashmiri migrants,welcomed the decision. This is the first and vital component of the Prime Ministers package for rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants,which has been implemented within the time frame set by the apex committee, Committee member,Ashok Bhan said.
