Over a month after P Chidambaram came to the Home Ministry, observers have noticed a distinct pattern in his daily routine. Chidambaram generally reserves the first half of his day for important meetings and discussions. Appointments are usually scheduled for the afternoon. Files are received by his office only till 6 pm,after which only urgent files, which cannot wait for the next day,get in. All the files are dealt with by the same evening at his residence. While the immediacy with which he had introduced two legislations in Parliament was attributed to his legal training, the routine is being credited to his management skills.
