Teacher forces students to massage legs,suspended

The misdemeanour was caught by a student who took video clips of the incident and sent them to a school official.

A Woman teacher in a government school here was suspended for allegedly making speech and hearing impaired students massage her legs.

Shital Avchar,a teacher at a school for deaf and mute students,was also found guilty of taking naps in the classroom during school hours and harassing pupils.

The misdemeanour was caught by a student who took video clips of the incident and sent them to a school official.

Subsequently,Alok zilla parishads chief executive officer Arun Unhale ordered an inquiry into the incident in which the teacher was found to be guilty. She was suspended on Monday.

A human rights organisation here,meanwhile,demanded her immediate dismissal.

An inquiry was also conducted against the schools superintendent Prahlad Lane,who was found guilty of negligence and was also suspended on Monday.

The students of the school also alleged that they were beaten up when they lodged the complaint.
