Tata Nano launched in Nepal at 5 lakh Indian rupees

Nepal is the second foreign country after Sri Lanka,where Tata Nano has been introduced.

The world’s cheapest car Tata Nano is set to roll out in Nepal where it was launched on Sunday,but priced at Nepalese Rs 8,00,000,over three times its price in India.

After an addition of 240 per cent customs and other duties and insurance charges,the car that is priced at Rs 1,51,000 in India,will come at a cost of NRs 798,000 (roughly Rs 5 lakh) in Nepal,Tata Motors’ International Business Head Johny Oommen said.

Tata Nano has introduced three brands of Tata Nano,the standard version of Tata Nano,Tata Nano CX and Tata Nano LX in Nepal.

Expressing confidence,Oommen said,the car with its comfort,performance and maneuverability will prove to be an ideal car for the discerning customers of Nepal and will win their hearts.

The sole distributor of Tata Nano in Nepal,Sipradi Trading,is looking forward to make it the vehicle of choice among the Nepalese,its CEO Siddhartha Rana said.

Ten commercial banks have tied up with Sipradi to provide financing for the purchase of the vehicle.

Sipradi is the second largest private sector business organisation in Nepal with over Rs 1,000 crore annual turn over.

The booking of the car has already started with Rs 10,000 deposit per vehicle in Kathmandu and other major cities is scheduled to close after 10 days.

Nepal is the second foreign country after Sri Lanka,where Tata Nano has been introduced.
