The decision to allocate the important portfolio of Rural Development to first-term MP C P Joshi set tongues wagging in Congress circles — not only the usual conspiracy theories about the power that propelled him,but also about his inexperience for such a crucial job. But induction of Agatha Sangma as Minister of State could be of great help to Joshi, for he looks set to gain from the experience of P A Sangma who served at the Centre for over a decade in different capacities, including deputy minister,MoS,and Cabinet minister before becoming the Lok Sabha Speaker. Sangma, the father, has shifted his base from Meghalaya to Delhi to help his daughter shine and excel in her ministerial responsibility.
