Vishnu Vishal says Mammootty’s 2023 hit made on a Rs 25 crore budget was a key inspiration for Aaryan

Actor Vishnu Vishal is gearing up for the release of his serial killer thriller Aaryan. In a recent promotional interview, Vishnu revealed that a 2023 Malayalam blockbuster starring Mammootty served as a major influence on Aaryan. The film in question is the crime drama Kannur Squad, in which Mammootty plays an ASI.

In the interview, Vishnu said, “I really got inspired by the Mammootty starrer Kannur Squad. Some sequences of Aaryan are, in fact, inspired by Kannur Squad. The Malayalam film was shot well.”

Kannur Squad is a road-movie-style procedural inspired by several real-life incidents. It follows an underfunded team of Kerala cops, nicknamed ‘Kannur Squad’, as they embark on a nationwide hunt for the criminals behind a home invasion in Kerala.
