Rolls-Royce establishes presence in Qatar

Rolls-Royce,has signed an agreement with Qatar Science and Technology Park QSTP.

Global power systems company,Rolls-Royce,has signed an agreement with Qatar Science and Technology Park QSTP to create a research,training and development programme.

This is in support of Qatar8217;s mission to create a hub for technology development,education and research in the Gulf region. OSyS,the wholly owned subsidiary of Rolls-Royce,will develop the programme in QSTP.

The agreement was signed at the ongoing Dubai Airshow.

An Asset Optimisation Centre AOC will be created to enable commercial airlines to enhance operational and environmental performance while reducing costs.

In addition,following successful first flight of a Qatar Airlines aircraft powered by alternative fuels on 12 October,further research will be undertaken with industry and academic partners.

The collaborating partners include Qatar Airways and Dolphin Energy and the activities are likely to commence early next year.
