Rathore arrest has got Raje worried, says Gehlot

A day after the CBI arrested BJP MLA and former minister Rajendra Singh Rathore,Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday alluded to the involvement of more senior BJP leaders in the Dara Singh “fake encounter” case. Gehlot also stated that former CM and leader of the opposition Vasundhara Raje was “worried” about what Rathore could tell the CBI.

Gehlot questioned how an ADGP — A K Jain, who was arrested in January — would have carried out an encounter or even fake encounter only on Rathore’s urging. “People are asking how a senior police official carried out an encounter on Rathore’s orders. Do you believe that somebody higher up in the chain was not involved in this case?” Gehlot said on Friday.

According to him,Raje was worried that she too could be questioned by the CBI. “Is she worried that Rathore may start talking and tell investigators that there were indications from the top to carry out the encounter?” He added that Raje was scared of the future and is burdened with guilt, which is why she is targeting the Congress government.

Raje refused to comment on Gehlot’s remarks and only stated that she would reply on Saturday.
