Investigating the allegations of rape against former BSP minister Daddu Prasad and his PA Angad Singh, the police on Tuesday said that the accused will have to undergo DNA tests. An unmarried woman, who gave birth to a baby on Monday, has alleged that either Prasad or Singh is her childs father. She has alleged that first Prasad and then Singh raped her before forcing her to consume a poisonous substance on October 16,2011. Singh is behind the bars. Reacting on the matter,Prasad said that he was ready for the DNA test. Contacted over phone in Shimla, where he has gone for party work,Prasad said,I am ready for any kind of tests and inquiry which is impartial. The allegations being made against me are the handiwork of some feudal forces in Chitrakoot. I am not saying that any political party or a particular politician is involved in all this. I have nothing to do with this matter. And I am not going anywhere. I want that a DNA test be conducted. Things will become clear after that. I request you to look into the facts of the case. It will become clear that my name has simply been dragged in this matter. He said he had faith in the police that it will carry out an impartial probe. SP (Crime) Arun Kumar Pandey said: The police will get the DNA tests of the accused conducted. All other related evidence is being collected. Pandey said that investigation of the complaint, which was lodged by the Chitrakoot-based woman in October last year, has been transferred to Allahabad on the orders of the Inspector General (Allahabad Zone). The woman said that following the regime change, she met officials and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. I requested him and other officials, and gave a written complaint that the former minister and his PA have been sexually exploiting me and DNA tests should be done once the child was born, she said. On October 16,2011,I was forced to write a letter at gunpoint in which I was asked to say that Singh was my husband. Even the ministers wife was present. I was forced to consume poisonous substance and dumped by the roadside. All this happened at Prasads residence in Chitrakoot. I managed to reach the SPs residence because it was near the place where I was dumped. The FIR mentioned Singh as her husband. There was no mention of Prasad. In her statement under Section 164 of the CrPC,which was recorded before a magistrate on October 18,she named Prasad.
