The Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights and the Railway Police rescued hundreds of children in Bharatpur,Ajmer and Jaipur as they were being trafficked to Bihar and Bengal. Over 362 kids,all child labourers,were reported to have been rescued over the past three days and 55 traffickers were arrested in this connection.
The children were being transported in the Ajmer-Sealdah and Howrah-Jodhpur trains. Commission officials with the help of district collectors in Jaipur and Bharatpur and the Railway Police raided several trains headed towards Bihar and Bengal and rescued the children. The children were engaged in bangle factories in Jaipur and their families were paid Rs 800 every month.
