Designer Rahul Mishra,the industry’s poster boy of responsible fashion (so I believe) and has been named the Best Women’s Designer for an award to be given by Cotton Council International on May 11. This comes close on the heels of Rahul’s successful recent showing in London. A product of National Institute of Design Ahmedabad,the Malhausi-born and now Mumbai-based Rahul seems to collect a trophy every year. His work with Chanderi and Maheshwari weaves (by sheer craft diligence and grass root level weaver associations) that he has translated into globally relevant garments seem set to walk a long way far beyond the ramp.
