Punj Llyod bags Rs 539 cr order from GAIL

Punj Lloyd has bagged the contract for laying a natural gas pipeline from Dabhol to Bangalore.

Punj Lloyd Group said it has bagged a Rs 539-crore contract from the state-owned gas utility GAIL India for laying a natural gas pipeline from Dabhol to Bangalore.

“Punj Lloyd will be laying seven spreads (sections) comprising 820 km of the pipeline,” the company said in a statement here.

The complete work of the pipeline from Dabhol to Bidadi and two additional spur lines (Gokak-Goa and Bechanhalli-Bangalore) has a total of ten spreads.

The project will be executed over a period of 13 months.

Speaking on the contract win,Punj Lloyd Director P K Gupta said: “We are extremely proud to win seven out of the ten spreads (sections) of this prestigious pipeline project.

Our association with GAIL is almost two decades old and we have executed several prestigious projects for them. This contract win reflects the confidence of the client in our project execution capabilities and reinforces our position as ‘pipeline experts’.”

The scope of work entails supply of material as required,installation,testing,pre-commissioning of pipeline,preservation,drying and commissioning.

The work includes installation of pipeline and related piping works at intermediate pigging stations,sectionalising valve stations,tap-offs and all associated mechanical,civil,structural,architectural,electrical,telecom and instrumentation work among others.

The company said it has laid in excess of 10,000 km of cross-country pipelines.
