Blame it on the Balikas and the Laados,the dadisas and the ammajis that now we have to put up with a tyrant of a baa who struts around like Godmother,wearing Gujarati ethnic wear,her face contorting into vamp-like expressions,her hand going Bas every time someone tries to talk more than a monosyllable. Seriously,when is the poor viewer going to be free from Rajasthani/Marwari/Haryanvi/Gujarati women talking in different dialects wearing a permanent scowl? SaharaOnes Shorr is one more attempt at the dhokla/fafda fication of prime time television.

For those who really care about this one,Shorr is about a mute girl,Kanku,a puppeteers daughter,obviously born into a poor family,the butt of her wicked bhabhis rants. The burning problem of the family is obviously to marry her off. Then there is Baa,the matriarch of Sanghani parivaar read rich and wealthy,where the women wear colourful panetar saris and loads of chunky jewellery and stand as props while Baa screams,yells,rants and is busy shooing down everyone else who wants to marry off Munjal,her mute grandson in a span of seven days!

Obviously,in the days to come,the paths of Munjal and Kanku are going to cross several times before the creative heads with one stroke of clichéd genius marry the two off! And even as we write this,we hear Kankus marital woes have already begun…
What could have been a sensitive story of two physically handicapped people trying to rise above their situations with love and care is reduced to loud,clichéd fare!
Bas,ame loko haath jodu chhon please stop unleashing this tripe on the poor viewer!
Verdict: The title is apt for the show wish the silences if any were as effective.
