Naxal encounter: CPI seeks inquiry

Claiming that several innocent tribals have been massacred in Chhattisgarh in state polices biggest encounter with the Maoists,the CPI on Saturday demanded an inquiry into the incident by a sitting High Court judge.

A statement by CPI general secretary S Sudhakar Reddy also asked the Union Home Ministry to instruct central forces to exercise restraint during operations in tribal areas.
