"We have retrieved all of the four bodies and arms and ammunition including an AK 47 rifle. Some of the Naxals, who fled the scene also might have suffered bullet injuries. We got back-up forces and searched the entire region," SP Shukla said.

The bodies are being brought to Jagdalpur for identification, police officials said. One INSAS rifle, four .303 rifles, and other muzzle-loading weapons and camping material have been recovered from the spot.

"The Naxals ran away from the spot. A search of the area revealed two dead bodies. One of them has been identified as Babita Gawde alias Shantabai Gawde, aged about 28, from Dhanora. The other Naxals are yet to be identified," Diwate said.
