MP: Session ends early,2 MLAs terminated

The adjournment minutes after the Speaker terminated membership of Congress MLAs Chaudhary Rakesh Singh and Kalpana Parulekar.

The monsoon session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly came to an abrupt end Wednesday after the Congress continued to insist on a debate on recent I-T raids on two businessmen known for their proximity with the BJP.

Speaker Ishwardas Rohani adjourned the House sine die after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra moved a motion to the effect,accusing the Opposition of creating obstructions and not letting the House to transact business.

The adjournment minutes after the Speaker terminated membership of Congress MLAs Chaudhary Rakesh Singh and Kalpana Parulekar. Mishra had moved a motion accusing Singh and Parulekar of misbehaving with Gyan Singh,a tribal legislator,when he was in the Speakers chair on Tuesday.

The Opposition had not let Rohani to go to the House on Tuesday after he rejected their demand for admitting an adjournment motion on the issue of corruption arising from the I-T raids.

Gyan Singh conducted the House proceedings for more than an hour before the Congress MLAs returned and forced him to sit in the chair when he tried to get up.

The House also passed a privilege motion against six Congress legislators,who were among those who gheraoed the tribal legislator and raised slogans.

Even after the session was adjourned Congress legislators continued to sit in the House for a long time while Parulekar sat on the floor.
