The government has changed the cadre of IAS officer Madhu Rani Teotia,the wife of IPS officer Narendra Kumar who was killed in March allegedly by the sand mafia in Madhya Pradesh,as a special case following a request from her.
At the time of Kumars death,Teotia was posted as Additional DM in Gwalior. Eleven days later,she gave birth to a baby boy and has been on maternity leave since.
Though the family had insisted that Kumar,posted at Morena,was killed by the sand mafia,the CBI,said in its chargesheet in June that he was killed in an accident. She has been on maternity leave since the incident took place and she does not want to serve in a state which failed us. It was the familys decision to change her cadre. She will no longer have to serve in a state where the real killers were never caught, said Keshav Kumar,her father-in-law.
