In a suspected case of honour killing,a man shot dead his wife and her sisters husband in Bhiwani Thursday suspecting duo of being in an illicit relationship,the police said.
Sandeep,a security guard at former Haryana minister Gopal Kandas petrol pump,shot dead Anil outside the Deputy Commissioners office in Bhiwani at point blank range using his licenced revolver hours after killing his wife of four years Shobha at their residence in Mansawas village of the district. He was arrested by the security staff present at the Deputy Commissioners office.
The police said Sandeep suspected that his wife Shobha of having an illicit relations with Anil,who is married to Shobhas sister and stays in the same village.
Preliminary investigation revealed that he had heard Shobha and Anil talking over the phone on several occasions and had warned her of dire consequences. On Thursday,he thrashed her mercilessly when he found that his wife was talking to Anil. He then tied her hands and feet with a rope and shot her from a pointblank range on her forehead,the police said.
Sandeep then called Anil to the District Courts complex in Bhiwani. After a brief exchange of words,Sandeep shot Anil,who died on the spot.
Sandeep is being interrogated,the police said.
