Mamata yet to claim her CM’s salary

Since taking oath on May 20 2011,West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has not taken her salary or allowances she is entitled to. The chief minister’s basic salary is Rs 8,000 per month but the allowances add up to about Rs 40,000.

“The cheques for Rs 8,000 have been lying with us. She can also claim other perks but she has not done so. We don’t know what to do with the money. In fact,our officers are planning to take up the matter with officials at the CMO,’’ said an official of the drawing and disbursing office of the home department which deals with disbursement of salaries and allowances of the CM and ministers.

Mamata also does not use the official car she is entitled to.
