Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj on Wednesday accorded sanction to the state Lokayukta police,responsible for investigating corruption cases in the state,to prosecute former minister for information technology Katta Subramanya Naidu,a close aide of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa,for his role in a Rs 107-crore land scam. The Lokayukta police had written to the Governor two days ago for the permission. The alleged offences were committed when Naidu was a member of the BJP cabinet between 2008 and 2010. He had resigned after being named as a key accused in the land scam,along with his son Katta Jagadish. As the appointing authority for ministers,the Governors sanction was mandatory. Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde said the sanction had been accorded by the Governor to prosecute Naidu.
