Lalu raises questions on secular image of Nitish

RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday questioned the secular credentials of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar by pointing to his “indifference”

RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday questioned the secular credentials of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar by pointing to his “indifference” over the burning of Sabarmati Express when he was railway minister.

“Had Nitish not called off probe into the train burning leading to Gujarat riots, the situation could have been different. Nitish failed on the yardstick of secularism and is now brandishing his secular commitments by trying to oppose Narendra Modi as NDA prime ministerial candidate,” Lalu, who will hold parivartan rally on 15 May,said.

The RJD chief said people were no fools and would see through fake the secular credentials of Nitish, who has been trying to woo Muslims.

“I also want Nitish to tell us the difference between LK Advani and Narendra Modi and which between BJP and RSS is secular,” said Lalu.

He said the BJP and the JD (U) were in “coma” and secular parties would return to power in 2014. “Even if we do not get into pre-poll alliance with the Congress,we will come together after polls to keep NDA at bay,” he said.
