Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (JPVL) today recorded a 81 per cent jump in profit after tax to Rs 69.56 crore in the first three months of current fiscal.
The company had reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 38.45 crore in the year-ago period.
JPVL posted an increase of 36 per cent in the revenues to Rs 283.98 crore as compared to the same period last fiscal.
JPVL,part of Jaypee Group,is into development and operation of power projects in India.
By end of this fiscal,the firm expects to have a 2,200 MW operational generation capacity,it said in a statement.
The company’s power generation capacity including hydro and thermal projects — would be about 13,720 MW by 2019,it added.
“The scheme of amalgamation of Jaypee Karcham Hydro Corp Ltd and Bina Power Supply Company Ltd with Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd has been sanctioned by the High Court of Himachal Pradesh,” JPVL chairman Manoj Gaur said.
